Pamour

Overview

The Pamour Mine, located approximately 20 km from downtown Timmins and 14 km from the Dome Mill, first commenced underground mining in 1911 and operated intermittently until 1996. Open-pit mining operations were initiated in 2006 and ceased in 2011, with the pit then being allowed to flood. In total, approximately 5.5 million ounces of gold have been produced at Pamour since 1911.

The project to re-develop and expand the Pamour open pit, and resume production, commenced in 2023, with initial production expected in 2025. Production is expected to average 150,000 ounces per year for 22 years (including 21 years of mining and an additional year of stockpile processing). Opportunities identified by Discovery to enhance the value of the project include reducing or eliminating waste-rock rehandling and investigating the use of alternative delivery systems to replace truck haulage from the open pit 14 km to the Dome Mill.

Exploration

Significant potential exists to upgrade existing Mineral Resources and to explore a number of near-mine and regional targets around the project. The mineralization at Pamour remains open at depth and along strike of the old underground mine workings. There is also an opportunity to extend the mineralization to the north of the current Mineral Resource model. In addition, the Pamour West Zone, not currently included in the company’s Mineral Resource estimates for Pamour, remains open at depth, with there also being significant exploration potential along the 2.0 km trend between Pamour and Pamour West.
